JAVANESE BATIK
Enjoy batik textiles curated by the Jakarta-based creative fashion collective, SWARA GEMBIRA, a name that translates from Bahasa Indonesian to “sounds of joy”. They are a forward thinking community of designers, stylists, entrepreneurs and entertainers contributing to a Revolution of Indonesian Cultural Art through combining traditional and contemporary innovations in motifs, styling practices, tailoring and performance art. These are samples of fabrics either curated by Pasar Wastra or designed by Kain Gembira, two of SWARA GEMBIRA’s branching organizations.
